I have become quite hooked on the music which has been shown on these Sky TV channels. Let's face it,ordinary TV is pretty crap these days with very little new and gazzillions of repeats. So tonight.....
Amy Winehouse in France followed by Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company.
Amy did two songs and then asked for a large Jack Daniels! She then did one more and changed the running order to scrub a song and replace it with Back to Black. Easy enough for her to do. But very hard on the crew, who would have sound and lighting programs, probably on computers, to showcase each song. The Band were a bit bemused too.These gigs all go to a program, in which dress rehearsals sort out who is doing what and when. To change the running order puts everyone out of rhythm except the star, who I notice did not shave her pits.!!! She was also singing pretty flat on the low end of the register and you could see band members grimace. Gigs with Amy were never dull it appears. The band and backing singers were excellent.She did so many numbers which could have been wonderful with a sober singer. Such a waste of talent, similar in many ways to the next lady, Janis.
My Verdict. Amy 4 out of 10 Band 8 out of 10

This ended up as one of those Rockumentarys showcasing the San Francisco Bay area Rock and Blues bands Some of it shot in the mid sixties in black and white and modern interviews with the band members as they are today.
My Verdict.............Boring! Give me music.!!.
