Well they have broken through now and one wonders if the have opened a type of Pandora's Box. Under the ice is said to be about 70F and there is plenty of air to breath. Now that a hole has been punched through, the temperatures will equalise and the warm air below will rush out, allowing cold air in, until the equalise.
