Costa ain't doing very well these days!! I tend to muse is this an insurance job? The oily rag placed in the wrong place? Thus they claim enough insurance money on this ship, added to their profits, accrued, over the years and bust the company. Therefore they could avoid paying off the massive claims that are going to come out of the Concordia. If the Captain is found to be blamed, will their insurance company pay out? I doubt it. Then the claims fall back onto Costa who could, ridiculously, sue the Captain in turn.
White Line are suspected of doing a similar scam with Titanic which may have been swapped with a sister ship.
