The military / industrial complex are the only real group who are making money. There is a maxim, in economics, ' guns or butter ' which means that you may set up production in any country to produce armaments or social, domestic goods, but you cannot do both, at the same time.
Materialism has ensured that there is over capacity, in domestic goods. Things are being made, so well, that they need not be replaced and so stockpiles exist. As nothing is 'going out the door' money, from profits, is not moving. Stagflation has resulted. The manufacture of stuff has stagnated. However, costs of production, like wages, rent, utilities and so, have all risen, hence there is inflation, as there are no profits to soak up these rises.
The bang bang makers, actually, have the same problem. Without conflict, their stuff would also, stockpile. So they need Wars, whether of their own, or to allow sales to others involved in their own, to use the bang bangs that they make!! So, economically speaking, War is good for business!!
Taking on Vietnam,Grenada, Iraq and so on, are all great, in this theory. They use up production and require replacements. The profit is not in cash, but in assets and land, for later, exploitation. The land provides jump off points to go further and logistics need not be so stretched, in any future adventures. Afghanistan was a similar proposition, in that it provided land. Of course, their drugs were cheaper too!!! The South Americans had taken control and set amounts and prices to provide product to comatose the populations, who may see what was happening. Profits were reduced, thus black ops were more expensive.
A new supplier at a better price, was needed. Afghanistan provided it, in addition, to more land and other assets. But the theory is one studied wearing rose coloured glasses. Eventually, outside of the pure theory, influences must act upon it. The Peace Protest Movement affected Vietnam. People began to say, ' where is the threat?' The Iraq War, was manufactured to control that country and their oil, more directly. Saddam, the American puppet, had gone native.
Iran is the fulcrum. They fought a ten year War, with Iraq, in which, Iraq was used as a surrogate, of USA, to take over Iran. The plan failed. Now, Israel is the aggressor, with American support.Whereas, there were no mutual defence treaties between Iraq and USA, there are between Israel and USA. Israel did their bit during 9/11 and 7/7 and want their payment. They have absolutely no chance of defeating Iran, alone. They need help. America is involved in 11 Wars, just now. They are looking at an internal financial War, on their own streets, probably, in the Spring. Iran is no banana republic and they are now looking for a War there to stop one at home, hoping that their people will be patriotic and not riot on the streets.
Have Americans had enough or will it be a case of one more time?
