Margaret Thatcher had a double first degree from Cambridge University. She married a guy who became a director of B.P Oil among many other companies. He was one of those' something in the City' people. She was flying high too. Then all of a sudden she takes a massive pay cut, changes her job completely and becomes a politician!
Angelika Merkel has a degree and was a high flying physicist making loads of money and collecting kudos in her sphere. She too suddenly changes direction, takes a pay cut and goes into politics.
She is now setting herself up as Empress of Europe just as Mrs T tried to handbag her way to becoming Queen of England. Scotland would have been independent by then so she could have had the job, easily.
