Some of the sentences involved have been crazy. A guy got 14 months for stealing an ice cream!! Another got 16 months for stealing 2 buns from a bakers, via a broken window. They were worth nothing !!! These stupid sentences will all be overturned on appeal, no doubt. However it is such a waste of Court time an will cost millions for Legal Aid payouts to lawyers.
Judges maintain that they are totally and completely independent of the political system and have no boss's who tell them what to do. Twaddle !! They are hypocrites and liars. If the Government says bend over, they take it, willing !!
