This is the big problem. If the freezers were stocked up, then the contents are now mush !!! How can you save frozen food? Well a petrol/diesel, silent running, portable generator is one way. A caravan/mobile home unit run on a propane gas bottle would work. Propane can also be used in portable heaters which I use myself.
You buy a bottle and use it, as you need it. Then you get no big heating bills, as it is paid in advance.
