Judges have gone, collectively, mad!! A guy got 14 months in jail for stealing two buns from a baker's shop, via a broken window. Another got 12 months for stealing an ice cream cone!! A girl, who was at home during the riots, got a prison term for receiving a stolen pair of shorts !!! She got out on bail, not many did, however.
Two guys were sentenced to 4 years in ail for spouting rubbish on facebook. They were charged with inciting a riot !!! People mug pensioners and get community service orders!!!!!!
So who put the Judges up to it ?? I suspect that they have done it to embarrass the Government. For too long, sentences have been way to lenient for violent offences. So the Judges have slapped these sentences down in the hope that they all appeal on grounds of severity. The Government can't say that the sentences are too heavy as they are out on a limb over wanting rioters, punished!!! So now, Judges can throw it back in their faces, later, when they begin to pass proper sentences for violent offences. The Judges are using these people as pawns in a sentencing game, between them and the Government and they are winning !!!!
