I do hope that Herman is right ! Charles de Gaulle repaid his debt to Britain by keeping us out of the EEC as it was then known. He knew it was rubbish and done us a favour by continually saying "Non" to our Entry.
We were all asked to vote yes or no and just prior to polling day it was realised that the nays had it and so very suddenly the rules were changed for the vote. It was not to be a winner takes all but a huge percentage had to vote no. Not many bothered to vote as it was assumed that the no vote was winning and the rule changes were hidden away on page umteen of the newspapers. The whole Referendum was a con.
So good on the Irish bring down this House of Cards !!
