When Scotland becomes independent,there will be no more of this pretentious crap. The honours system has been completely ruined. It was originally supposed to honour bravery in the military with good commanders being made lord's of the manor, given land and a title on a sliding scale.

When they ran out of Wars, the system moved on to honour ordinary people, who worked selflessly in their community. They did not get land or a title,just a bauble, for all of their hard work. Yes, these people should receive accolades and much more than just a bit of metal with a ribbon.
