Iraqi parliament calls for expulsion of foreign troops | News | Al Jazeera
Fabulous move! I hope that Germany, Italy and all of the other countries that are under the toe of America do the same thing. The American Empire is finished now and in the death knells.
I went to USA in 1969, yip I'm an old fart! at the height of Viet Nam. Being interested in planes, (two uncles were pilots) another uncle took us to San Deigo prior to going to Tijuana in Mexico and we went to see a huge navy base. Two feds, displaying guns, approach and question us.
I am at a family gathering and meet some security guy from Boeing. We chat getting round to my aircraft interest, I bring up the Phantom which the RAF had just bought. I give him the full spec. But that's top-secret, he cries and runs to find a phone. He then left, quickly.
I go out with the son of a family friend, who drives some navy boat as a Commander. He is the same age as me. Luvs led Zep and has a TR2 frogeye as a project and a Pontiac GTO as his runner. We get drunk on Chivas Regal then go out to find a party. We are 19 and underage to enter bars.
We end up in a trailer park to find about a dozen kids sitting in a circle, smoking pot and drinking beer. I discover that it is really a kind of wake. All of the guys had to report on the following Monday morning, for basic training.
This visit was to see if I and my mum would join family members, who already live there. I find out that should I go to Univ., in Scotland, my degree is useless. I would actually have to fly through junior, and secondary schooling and then go to a USA univ. I could then join my uncle's business after all of that shit indoctrination. I could not get out of California quick enough!!
Of course, our baggage, going home, was about double the limit. My uncle says, no problem! He folds up a one dollar bill, showing the one between his fingers saying, they think it is ten as I flash it. Sure enough boom we are on a fully loaded Boeing707. I begin to think, what if every passenger did the same thing?? Money money money, is all that counts in America then and now. The worker was not getting on the plane, so who cares!!
In later years, my aunt became ill and needed an ambulance,.during one bad time As they travelled along, slowly, my uncle says why so slow? oh quicker costs cash!! An exchange takes place and speed improves. What about a siren? Oh expensive things, sirens. Another exchange of cash. This was an ambulance hired behind a full health insurance plan. Health insurance prices, in their later lives, forced them to sell up and return home.
My opinion of USA has changed little since then. I could not get out of California quick enough.!
