This is one of these calamities, where everyone thinks that someone else must have done the obvious!
Another roaster is the Channel Tunnel. British track is a different width from all of Europe. So peeps gotta physically change trains.
Two young surveyor were sent out to a Glasgow Housing Scheme,some years ago, to measure the windows for replacement with double glazing. Aha they thought....count the number of the different types of houses,how many windows each type had and measure one unit. Then off to the pub.!! Exactly what they did!!
Well houses settle and window frames warp and all sorts of other reasons mean that each space must be measured.! Glasgow Council ordered them...the pplier sent them in good faith and of course, very few actually fit!! An expensive error. They had to go out and measure,re order and wait for new supplies.
