California always seem to dodge quakes.f you float a dinner plate in a basin of water,roughly,you got a an example of the Pacific plate.Push one bit down and the opposite comes up.
Now Indonesia and Japan are hit badly as are Alaska and the Islands between Russia and Alaska. These are all points on one huge plate. However California is rarely if ever hit. The last bad one being in San Francisco in 1908,over 100 years ago.
Law of Probabilities kinda favours California is due a big one sooner rather than later. !!
