Terrified US Aircraft Carrier Flees From Russian Subs To UK Safety
As I posted,further down, a Scottish fishing boat had it's nets snagged, by a submarine, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. The MoD informed the Skipper that there had indeed been submarine activity in the same area in which he was fishing. There is a protocol, which normally alerts fishermen where and when subs are on exercises. Although many countries have submarines,the Russians were blamed.
The arrival of the American carrier was well publicised and the story went that it was a visit as part of a World tour. This article appears to say that no visit was scheduled. You pays yer money and you takes your choice.!
