Here are my simple tips to avoid these idiots.   They use computer based dial up machines which cut off after six rings in case they get an answer machine. So count the number of rings.....more than six is a live person.

If I get a strange number on caller ID on either my land line or my mobile, I put that number into a search engine.   just type the number in and hit return.  The name of the company will come up and you can then decide whether to call back or not.

If it is a pest number then assign that number a special ringtone for that number. Then you know by the ringtone not to bother struggling to answer it. You just ignore it. !!!

Let them ring you...just don't answer     it wastes their time and time is money to them!!
