Michael Jackson once again tops Forbes list of 'highest-earning dead celebrities' ...thanks to $140 million haul | 



Every time one of his songs is played his estate gets a fee as do the writers of it. A group named the Performing Rights Society go round pubs,clubs and discos and demand to know which songs are being played. They then charged the venue with a fee.

I came across them when I was a band roadie many years ago. I got the job of filling out a list of songs which the band played. I only got caught once. The next time we were in that club, I had a long list of songs which were out of copyright as they were very very old!  The Andrews Sisters from the 1930 / 40's featured heavily !  Minnie the moocher by Cab Calloway was our show stopper !!
