- Glasgow's bubonic plague outbreak in 1900

BBC News - Glasgow's bubonic plague outbreak in 1900

Glasgow stands on the river Clyde. Ships from all over the World dock in Glasgow. They load and unload from a plethora of warehouses.  Although gone now, there was a huge granary in Partick, on the Clydeside, which was a rats playground, as well as the warehouses. Every ship had them aboard.
In 1900 there were many tenement flats, which were built in the Victorian era, to house workers and rats would forage for food from the common bin areas as they still do, today..
The city centre had three and four storey shops and offices. Some along Argyle Street,
were auction houses and pawn brokers.  Glasgow was then and still is a rats playground. Not all, have four legs.!!!
