British Gas 'planning 10% price rise' | Mail Online
I have been posting that there would be a fuel increase prior to Winter and here we are. Other gas suppliers will follow and then the electric firms will join in!!!
I have been using propane gas heaters for more than twenty years and I have never had a Winter bill to pay, as I pay cash, up front, for gas bottles, to be delivered. As I don't use the heaters in summer, I buy extra bottles. There is always someone who will sell a empty bottle, for cash. I have four altogether. I bought four full bottles, in April and have only started to use one, recently. When you buy a heater the price includes a full bottle, which you swap.when empty. There are three heat sections, but one is normally enough. It can be on or off. No overnight charging is involved.I normally place a dish of water on the floor to evaporate into the air as it is a dry heat. You should keep a window, just a little open, too.
.I have one in the living room and one in the hallway. By keeping doors open, in the hallway, the heat circulates In milder weather, one heater can heat the whole flat with all doors open.
My electricity needs are small, freezers, computer, cooking and light, but again, I pay in advance, by having a pre payment, card meter in the flat.
I say again......I have never had a Winter fuel bill to pay for twenty years
