NatWest: Bank cashier left 'crippled with pain' after being forced to carry £1,000 in pound coins wins compensation | Mail Online
I just checked and a UK pound coin weights 9.5 grams Therefore each 500 coin bag weighed 4.75 Kilos
To my mind, these bags should be supported, underneath the weight, as opposed to letting the weight hang, by carrying them by the top of the bag.
By the way these coins are 70% copper with today's price for clean scrap copper being £2.50 per kilo.
So they were worth about £23.75 melted down. Not worth the effort!! The American cent is worth 1.25 cents as scrap!!
