What a shower! Business tries to recruit seven jobless people... but NONE turned up because it RAINED | Mail Online
Offering somebody £100 per week and promises of future income is no incentive to any body to get off benefits.
They were to get 2 weeks to sort themselves out or get the sack. Okay the terms are pretty fair.
But to a benefit receiver they are hopeless. Why? Here is why.
Joe takes the job. He has to spend £5 per day to go to and from work (£25) He has to pay his full rent and local taxes, or go into arrears. His rent could be £60 per week. So out of the £100 he is left with £25 to feed himself. He has to get up at some ungodly hour to get ready to go to work in all weathers.
All for £100 and no guarantee of a job after two weeks It just ain't worth the hassle.!!!
On benefits Joe would get £70 per week and his full rent paid. He would only pay 10% of local taxes. He can get out of bed whenever he wants to, with no work pressure. Watch TV or play some sounds. Wander about in shorts and a tee shirt without having to iron cloths for the morning.
So for £5 more in physical income..............why bother!!
