Looks like Paddy scored another win!!  I posted that the petrol top up rush was a con to get money in before the end of the tax year on April 6th. Not only did sales of petrol rise thus increasing profits for garages but the Government made bundles on the fuel levy and on VAT income in the fourth quarter of the year. People expecting a strike, which was never announced nor has it come to fruition, bought more by stocking up in case of haulage problems. Again, more VAT.    A nice boost as this article confirms.
It was a con.!!
