Reminds me of a little anecdote. Renfrew airport had been the Glasgow Airport for decades and was too small. So a navy air base HMS Sanderling was taken over and the building og Glasgow International was commenced. Now the approaches were not more than a few degrees out and on the day of the official opening a East European pilot had the dubious honour of being the last to land at Renfrew.  Can you guess?
He was down at the new one with no fire protection and no guides. The penny dropped and fire trucks and various other cars and vans whizzed round. Our intrepid pilot had to take off and land at the correct one, where his punters were waiting. He said that on finals, he saw two runways and went for the new one, with the big terminal building decked out with flags.
