As I have posted many times the simple answer is to use the draft section of E Mail.  One arty writes a message and places it into draft. Pass the entry details for the E mail address on and they in turn enter the E mail, look at the draft and delete it as read. The original sender checks and sees it is deleted and therefore received.
As nothing has every been sent over the Internet the message has not been read by any third party.  Sod the lot of them!!
