Elections have been postponed for various reasons. Eventually a main polling hub was blown up. of course it was not the Government doing it. But Goodluck Johnathan has not been doing to well and the old regional groupings want things back to their way of working which was totally corrupt.
Nigeria is split along a North/ South divide. The Clans in the South control the oil in a small enclave based in the South. Most elections in the past have been won by either the North or the South in a polarised continuous squabble. When Goodluck Johnathan was elected he immediately engaged a deputy Prime Minister from the opposition side. He continued to employ people, on merit, to Government posts and it was thought that Nigeria was becoming stable.
However the criminal element want things back the way they were in the polarised system with one side in and out of power continuously.
