China web users call for ‘Jasmine Revolution’
The Internet sure is becoming a wonderful thing!! The speed at which a piece of news, information, an idea or whatever can and does go round the World is frightening.
Anyone can sit at their computer and place a statement on a bulletin board to be read and passed on. Then a junior reporter, charged with watching the 'Net picks up the story and it goes into a newspaper. Then a junior reporter, charged with watching other newspapers picks it up and then TV News and then it goes country to country. The Snowball effect.
But was there any truth in it? Who knows, because as soon as that first return key, in a suburban bedroom or wherever, was pressed, the words became Public Domain.
Anybody, literally, can put stuff on the 'Net. Individuals, kooks, spooks and assorted nuts. So if the 'Jasmine' Revolution is coming we are in for a hell of a ride !!! How about a 'Cerise ' Revolution in Russia, now?
