I agree with Boris. These strikers choose dates to strike such as school holidays Xmas, etc. to bring public pressure on their bosses to give in.
I am not against Unions. If a grievance cannot be resolved then a withdrawal of labour, as a last resort, is fair with me. But to either politically or disruptively pick dates to strike is wrong. If negotiations break down then by all means go on strike, then and there and not choose a date three weeks later or whenever, which may be more suitable.
