Kerry threatens Israel with international boycott | World TribuneYou can bet that America has done, or is doing, a deal with the Palestinians, to get the oil and gas, offshore, which is exactly why Israel want the same area. Everybody wants the oil and gas.
Currently there is a 15 year lease to drill off the shores of the West Bank for oil and gas. British Gas (60%)handle the drill rigs. A Lebanese firm, CCC (30%), handle the on shore refining and pumping to Jordan and Israel from there base in Egypt.
This lease has just over half way to run and Israel are desperate to get that oil and gas for themselves. If America forces Israel to back down,you can bet that the deal has already been done,for America to takeover the drilling,pumping and sales.
