Strangely, I feel that the Uk will ride out the economic storm to come when,not if, the American Empire goes the way of the Greek,Roman,Austro-Hungarian and British empires did before it,down the plughole.!Scotland, upon gaining independence, will be in an even better position to expand quickly and become a World player.
Just think about all of the Economists who are or were British. John Maynard Keynes, Thomas Maltheus, Andrew Carnegie and Adam Smith,founder of modern Economics. We have survived the South Sea Bubble and with a mixed economy,Britain has survived many economic disasters.
A mixed economy with centre left politics has bee proven to work and America must go forward in the same way. Pure Capitalism is as dead as pure Communism.
