I first used strobe lighting to show a drummer in a band move very slowly while in truth his hands were moving damn quick, in the 1970's   The drummer complained that the light was too right and we had to stop using it.
When Diana was killed,the strobe light, in a back back, was the first thing that I thought of, as a good method. I then read about the SAS having used it as well as flash powder in frames with a small detonation charge to blind people at windows through which they wished to go !  I never changed my mind. One or the other method was used by one person, on a motorbike, with a back pack. He/'She need only pass the Mercedes and click a switch. The white Fiat Uno was a blocking car to force the Merc to say in lane.  The bike could easily slip through between both cars, if necessary, depending on the speed and timing. The method was simple.
The why is much more intriguing.  If Diana was or was going to be pregnant in the future having married Dodi then a future King would have a half brother who could possibly be a practicing Muslim. I doubt very much that the playboy Dodi was much of one, but a son could be..
Another option, the landmine producers.  Yet another, a lone stalker. A disgruntled member or ex member of the Armed Forces. A rogue spook group. There was a long list.
But what about Dodi as the target or some revenge attack against his father. This position has not really been looked at. Al Fayed had many enemies.  Dodi was a playboy and supposedly a Muslim. .
