Infected blood inquiry judge calls for more testing for hepatitis C | UK news | The Guardian
A few decades ago America sold blood to the uk. A real nice thing to do, you may think. Nobody asked where did this blood originate? Well, it was bought from junkies, prisoners and homeless folks, who would sell their blood for cash. The blood was never tested in usa nor in the Uk but just simply placed into blood bank stock. Needless to say, there was an upsurge in the numbers of people getting Hep A,B,C. along with AIDS and various sexually transmitted diseases,
The blame game began and the Uk finally tested and ensured that the blood was fit or purpose.
