French rail services to be badly hit by nationwide strike - The Local
As we come nearer to Summer, the usual suspects go on strike. German airports and now French railways. Next will be air traffic controllers in both Spain and France followed by French farmers spraying crap on buildings and blocking roads. You can write the script every year !!
It may sound as if I am against Unions. Not so. Without them, match girls might still be dipping bits of wood into a noxious sulphur mixture. Actually, they went on strike for more money but you get the point. Unions, supposedly, protect workers from unsafe working conditions and act as agents for members in negociations with employers over grievances. hey are supposed to enter in when all other avenues have been exhausted.
Nowadays, powerful Unions call strikes, as and when the please, with the sheeple membership just obeying instructions. The members suffer lowe income but the Union bosses, who are employed by the Union which they head continue to draw huge salaries similar to Managing Directors of companies.
During the long coal strike, which was more political than grievance,Mick McGachey of the Scottish Miner's Union, went without his salary. He eventually shamed the leader of the whole Miner's Union,Arthur Scargill to do the same. They gave their wages to charities. All Union leaders should do the same, in order to realise how strikers suffer financially. Perhaps then there would be fewer strikes, when Balliffs come to repossess leader's stately homes!!!
