Britain’s pothole “menace” costs drivers £684m in a year



This is a big reason why insurance premiums are so high. Councils,who do not fix potholes,pass any compensation claims to their insurance companies who have to pay out. It is cheaper for a Council to pay the insurance premiums than it is to fix potholes,so  they don't bother!!
