One GP covers out of hours for 900,000 patients in Cambridgeshire | Daily Mail Online
I rarely phone out of hours doctors and hang on until my surgery opens. I never EVER phone 111. On the odd times when I did phone out of hours agencies, the doctors have always been foreign and had little understanding of English. Obviously, they can't get a GP or hospital place, probably due to poor english or worse, and are in agencies for the money.
An out of ours doctor cannot get into your surgery to see your medical notes and normally they err on the side of caution and send you to hospital, rather than be sued and/or struck off. You could have gone to hospital, hours before, by dialing 999.
Moral of my story I hang on,get a taxi or I dial 999 Accept no substitutes, decide for yourself. Do not leave it to others !!!!!!
