At one time USGS would send out an E mail alert for every quake.  This service was stopped with no reason given.Stories began to appear of USGS not showing data which other services clearly showed.

The recent huge explosion in the Ukraine was put up on USGS and after 20 minutes the data was taken down!

I posted,further down about a quake in the Flores Sea. I was notified by EMS that it was a 7.0  and yet USGS have it as a 6.6

Now all seismograph machines work in the same way. A needle records onto a piece of graph paper on a drum. This graph shows the size of the quake as a height on the paper and wen it started and finished along the bottom.

So why is there so much of an error???
