Ukraine: Pro-Russian forces launch new attacks to seize Donetsk airport » Wars in the World

I fail to see why the rebels want this airport as they have no planes !!  Russia could not fly in support because the Ukraine air force is still flying.  Even if the airport was used by the Ukraine air force, to fly attacks, it would be simple to hit planes as they arrive or depart.

The airport is useless to both sides.
