Where is Bobby Bales?

Just what has happened to the marine,Robert Bales, who apparently went nuts, in a drunken rampage, in Afghanistan killing 14 people on his fourth tour???
He was spirited away and flown to Ramstein base, in Germany, where he was placed in a mental ward. Later, he was flown to the USA, after fears that the new Afghan Government would ask Germany to send him back.Troops have immunity for killing bad guys but these were civilians and a case could be made, as he was off duty.He was,again, put into a mental health ward.  But where is he now?  Does anybody know? It appears to me that he has got away with the whole deal!!
