e shall see.Somehow I doubt it. Not only is he Pope the head of a religion he is also the leader of a country, namely, Vatican City. As such, he is entitled to protection under the Geneva Convention and cannot be given a parking ticket, never mind be charged with indecency.
However if charges relate to a time prior to him becoming Pope then I believe that he can be charged and therefore,he resigned. We shall see.
Meanwhile Cardinals in England and in Scotland have also thrown in the towel and quit !!.
