CNN Caught Red Handed! Why Was CNN Using Fake Sandy Hook Footage?
Far be it for me to side with CNN but........in the cold light of day,when the dust settles and people can begin to nitpick these errors are easy to spot. Let's face it, the police went to the wrong school and the helicopter pilot merely followed them thinking that they must know where they are going.
It is no easy job to fly a news helicopter. This activity and people shouting, in earphones, get pictures, along with air traffic controllers saying get out the way and let the police into the area is no simple thing. Whizzing along at over 120 mph, one school looks pretty much like another. Compounded with police at the school, it is easy to pick the wrong one. Sure, it should have been checked on the ground, but again, you have people shouting about ratings and first with the news competition issues. At least they were there!
In the UK,before Xmas,the Daily mail newspaper ran a picture story of drunks in the street saying that it was happening in Wales. It was discovered that they had used old photos from over 5 years before rather than have the expense of sending people. they would normally have got away with it, but people recognised themselves and could pinpoint where they were and when.
I am sure that stock video and stills are used, all the time, to augment a story not only by the media but also by me in this site!!! Every time a story comes out regarding Jimmy Shovel or Sammy Bin Liner, I have used old photos.I could hardly get current ones, now could I?? .
