Jon Maccoll: Motorist hit by a buffalo stampede... in Chesterfield! Driver wins £7,000 in compensation |
Strangely enough in Paisley,Scotland a cow got out and was wandering about on the M8 motorway, yesterday. In Scotland, the law states that a cow is a domestic animal and it is the owner's responsibility to keep in secure. Any damage cause by the cow can be reclaimed from the owner. Sheep, however, are classed as wild animals and no claims can be made for any damage cause by them..
Another interesting legal note. If there is a collision with a wild deer, that Deer cannot be butchered or taken away by the people involved in the collision. However, if someone comes along later, the deer becomes 'found' in law and can be taken away, butchered and sold.
