I Remember when Wal Mart bought over ASDA in the UK  and it came out that the company were buying life insurance policies on the workers lives. Of course as they paid the premium,which were deductible against tax, they got the money !!! Any payments which the received were tax free, too
The British Unions told them to stop it over here and warned that they would get no deliveries on trucks, no union supplier would deal with them and nobody would work for them  They soon stopped what is called, by them, the dead peasant insurance.
