Novovirius, Vomiting Virus Sweeps Britain - Hospital Wards Shut as Cases Soar 50 Percent to Five-Year High! | Alternative

Happens every year, gets bigger every year and yet nothing much seems to stop it. The last time that I was in hospital, three years ago, everybody got it.  It had been normal for patients to have food delivered or brought in by relatives,this was banned. Even the hospital radio was out of bounds unless you had your own headphones!!
Short cuts from ward to ward were closed and taped up.
However, staff could bring in their own food!  They were coming in wearing trainers. They rarely took a squirt of anti septic solution at ward doors.  Porters wandered round wearing outside clothing, pushing dirty wheel chairs, from place to place. Maintenance folk moved all over the hospital, in dirty boiler suits and street cloths, carrying dirty tools about and food was delivered from a central kitchen on heated units across open spaces and outside ground. Screens round my bed had blood spatter. The public wandered in and out for X rays and A @ E without a shoe dip or a handwash. Visitors were allowed.  
So any little punishment of patients by not allowing them decent food was hopeless. On that note, did you know that hospital and prison kitchens, in the UK, are exempt from hygiene laws.  But restaurants and carry out places are stringently checked by local environmental health officers.
