The whole Xmas birthday thing is crap anyway!  The Gregorian calendar has 12 months whereas the one prior to that had 10 months.  But that is the easy one...........
At that time the Jews had all sorts of strange timings when a couple should partaaaay and have the resultant kids. Any kid born outside of the rota was deemed to be a sin. If Christ existed at all, it appears that he was born in March and when the Catholic church was evolving and getting rid of the old holidays, Xmas, a pagan festival was chosen for his birthday. This fell in with the rota when the guys were home from building pyramids or whatever they did for work..
