10,000 Twitter users are facing legal action- The Inquirer

It had to happen, eventually.  People get into a mind set that these social media sites are their own private space.Nobody phones their friends, any more, with their news, they just post it!!  However any person on the system can see their posts.
When  started this blog, I wanted anonymity. I did not want it to appear to be my views and issues. Some items I am in agreement with, some I'm not and many I couldn't give a flying **** about !!  My point in posting is that other just may be interested. The site is not about me. So I invented Paddy Fields.
Many people use their own name and give away their full life history, for all to see. They also vent their feelings, too.  Paedophilia is a big issue and people have jumped in and blamed this grandee of the Conservative political party on the word of one guy, who was never even shown a picture of the Peer gain confirmation. The newspapers, ever hungry for a story to sell papers, just took his word for it and then it snowballed from there.
The papers had their guy to blame but the public just jumped onto these sites and vilified the old guy. Indeed several people, who wee innocent, were beaten up by mobs because they were considered to be dodgy.' There was no proof, the victims were just different and led another lifestyle from the masses.  Therefore they must be wrong if they are not part of the herd.
Now this Peer has enough clot and money to go to Court and really he has an open and shut case as the insults are all on record against people's names which can then be traced to an address. Whereas paddy Fields cannot be traced as he/she is a figment of  my imagination.
The moral here is, before you engage mouth or fingers to type, engage brain first!!
