The elderly men battling loneliness: Third of those aged over 75 spend more than 12 hours a day on their own | Mail Online

I am not over 75 but I must confess that I like being alone for most of my time. Perhaps it could be considered to be selfish, but I hate being in the middle of something, then having to stop, due to folk arriving unannounced.
When asked what brings you here, they say, oh I just thought that I'd come see you. Obviously they have empty lives and just want to sit in my heat, drink my beer and fill my place with their smoke, which I hate as a non smoker!!
