Blood money - is it okay to pay donors? - The Local
Many years ago the UK regularly bought blood from the USA. This was obtained from drunks, junkies and seriously ill folk selling their blood in the USA.
For some stupid reason the UK believed that the USA screened it. Of course they did not as many folk in the UK were continually getting new health issues traced back to this blood. It came out that a test was not being done prior to sale.
If blood becomes a commodity then all sorts of cost cutting fly moves will appear for higher profits.
