Euro judges strike again: Human rights court rules thousands of prisoners must be given the right to vote in direct contravention of Parliament | Mail Online

Why should prisoners not e allowed to vote?  They are in prison because they have been found guilty of committing crimes. The punishment is the withdrawal of the right to move freely whenever and not to be able to go wherever they might wish.
The main reason that they have been refused the vote, in the past, is the fact that most prisoners would vote for Labour and a huge block vote in one area near a prison could sway an election.!!  it would be difficult to cast each prisoner's vote in whichever area they came from and so all would be lumped into the nearest electoral area to the prison.
Handing out a voting card, with a meal, would be extremely easy for the prison authorities and as they returned to their cells, they would just place them in a box.
