Pandemonium at the pumps: Police shut garages and profiteers look to cash in on fuel chaos.... and EVERYONE blames No.10 incompetence | Mail Online
There has been no announcement of a strike date as yet. In fact, both sides sit down, on Monday, for more talks. So if the talks fail and a strike is called, then seven days notice must be given, thus saving the Easter weekend.
As I posted, I think that the Government just wanted to make some extra money before the end of the tax year on 5th April. With all of this panic buying they make more fuel duty, more VAT and more Corporation Tax on profits of higher sales all in the last month of the tax year. It is the last quarter too and the upturn on sales will look good for the economic figures.
