There are thousands of empty businesses premises in Scottish towns and cities that getting any rent is better than nothing. Bogus names of joiners, plumbers or whatever are put on leases and the hash factory begins.
Flats are rented and turned into factories too. Neighbour's don't ask questions. Gardeners come and go to show traffic and they can grow for years.
