Well if they didn't lie and try to hide so much they would not have a problem!!
Of course there are going to be errors in the heat of battle or in difficult tense situations so why not admit it , say sorry and move on.
However some of these incidents were quite deliberate either by cowboy troops on psychos in uniform!!
I notice that no one is denying that these incidents actually happened!!!
I hope that more Whistleblowers come forward now or in the near future.
