View from the Rice Paddy!

well the football World Cup is upon us. I upgraded to High Definition so I hope that the games are good. However it should be remembered that some games will be played at high altitude which must favour countries like Brazil which are my pick for overall winners!

The opening game between South Africa and Mexico will be a draw at 2-2. Well nobody wants to thrash the host right away !! Then Uruquay play France which will be a 1- 1 draw.

On the second day Argentina play Nigeria which they should win easily 3-1. So hardluck Jonathan! On the same day Korea play Greece which will be a drab 0-0 draw.

Then the first headline tie for the wrong reasons. England v. USA is a game where any nutjob bomber can cause maximum disruption and get the greatest news coverage. It will be like a "live" bomb show! It would not surprise me if two or more groups stage bombings independently of each other. The South African police have had two bad games so far. People forcing entry and pitch invasions are not a good start!! If the game goes full term, which I seriously doubt, England will win 2-1.

Day Three everybody goes home as the World Cup is cancelled !!!
